Manga of the Week - てつなぎこおに。
Sunday, July 11, 2010ヽ(´▽`)/ It's finally a lot cooler than yesterday, but I don't feel like doing an anime post because I have Persona 3 Portable to play.
Title: てつなぎこおに。, Tetsunagi Kooni
Author: Aoki Ume
Genre: Shounen, Comedy, Fantasy, Slice of Life
Serialized in: Fujimi Shobo Dragon Age / Pure
Total Volume Count: 0 (ongoing)
Summary from chapter 4:
With her mother missing and an empty stomach, the Oni girl, Senri, reluctantly came down from the mountains towards human habitation, where she collapsed in he street. Coming across her by chance, Shino offered her house as a place for Senri to live.Kenn's Comment: I tried my best to fix some grammar errors that were present in a scanlation I pulled it from. Those who like Hidamari Sketch (Sunshine Sketch) will most likely adore this one too. Same author, same style. It'll make your nutbladder hurt all over again. The chapters are really short, and unlike Hidamari Sketch, this isn't a 4koma. On another note, there's lots of haters of this kind of manga it seems. Probably the same people who kill kittens and eat babies. They also hate Yotsuba&! and Hidamari Sketch (both, not one or the other), and firmly believe that White people are superior, and that Bleach and Naruto are the two greatest creations in the universe, following higher life forms like humans.
This manga is about how simpe words and casual conversations can make people extremely happy; a manga to make you realize in various ways "Somehow, I'm worried about how I can communicate better" (...maybe).
