Well, I'm not sure what to say.

Alrighty, so the B★RS DVD episode came out. I only know that it was distributed through magazines like Megami and Animedia. Not sure whether it was released in anywhere else. Subtitled in 7 different languages. They know who they're selling to.

The story's protagonist is Kuroi Mato (left). She's short, energetic, and child-like. On the first day of school, a tall girl catches her eye. Pictured on the right is said girl, Takanashi Yomi. Her name already spells doom for those who read / watched Ga Rei /Zero.

The episode switches between the world where Mato and Yomi are, and another dimension where Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master fight their battles. The colours textures of the Black Rock Shooter world contrast quite a bit with the other world, as you can clearly see.

The Black Rock Shooter scenes will have lots of scenes from the PV that many will recognize. The art style of the backgrounds are the same as Huke's art.

As pretty as it looked, the episode felt a tad bit empty. I realize that they pretty much had to fit everything in to an hour, but the episode left me a bit confused. I've read a few theories about the episode, like how the Black Rock Shooter scenes are kind of like a metaphor to Mato's relationships, or how the scenes are in reverse order, leading up to the defeat of Black Rock Shooter.

The story wasn't exactly finished by the end of the first episode, as there's still a mysterious character in the BRS world who hasn't done anything other than stand (pictured in the middle). Yomi's 'conflict' also wasn't resolved at the end of the episode either. Now I realize this was pretty much a 'pilot' episode for the new company, Ordet, to test the waters.
