( ´_ゝ`) Starting to run out of ideas and backlog for this.

Author: Morimoto Kozueko

Description from ANN:
Fresh out of college, Kumiko "Yankumi" Yamaguchi becomes a math teacher at an all-boys high school. Unfortunately for her, she's assigned by the school board as the homeroom teacher for class 3-D, which happens to be the class of delinquent students. When the class attempts to make a living hell out of Yankumi's career, they fail as her persistence and aggression gain her respect. However, little does anyone in the school know that Yankumi is actually heir to the Kuroda Ikka - one of Tokyo's most powerful yakuza clans.
Kenn's Comment: If you're hesitant to read this because of that 'josei'  label in the genre section, think of it as a GTO for the other 50% of the population, i.e. the women and girls. Once you start reading, I'd like it if you dragged that comparison out the backdoor and shot it twice with your dad's old hunting rifle. You know, the one that's on display above the fireplace. Yes, that one.

Anywho, it's a nice read. Nice enough to score a live action TV drama (which I heard diverged from source material quite a bit) with several sequels, a live action movie, as well as an anime adaptation. Having that many adaptations has to amount to something.

It's pretty funny, and the more serious moments are pretty good too. I don't usually read josei manga (it's out of my scope of interests), but this one was an exception. If you haven't read this one yet, I'll suggest you take a look at it. Don't let the art be a turn off though. I'm sure girls and women will enjoy this a tad bit more than the male readers.
