Song of the Week - Blast from the Past
Friday, March 19, 2010
The best song. Ever. And it's Canadian...though not in theme. Should really be 'Goin' to British Columbia" because everyone knows that it's the best place in the world.
This week is basically just a bunch of songs I liked back in the day. Most people should know most of these, since they're a little more than uber famous.
More tunes
Title: California
Artist: Wave
Genre: Pop Rock
Album: Nothing As It Seems
Single: California
Vintage: 10/08/01
Kenn's Comment: I love this song! Back in the early years of this decade. It's the band's only #1 song, but it's a good one. Everyone loves it.
Title: Summer Girls
Artist: Lyte Funky Ones (LFO)
Genre: Pop Rock Rap
Album: LFO
Single: Summer Girls
Vintage: 07/06/99
Kenn's Comment: Duuuude. I love this song too. It's one of two high charting songs they had. A lot of the comments on Youtube say otherwise though.
Title: Upside Down
Artist: A*TEENS
Genre: Pop
Album: Teen Sprit
Single: Upside Down
Vintage: 04/12/00
Kenn's Comment: Oh boy. Now this is a tad bit embarassing. But hey, I was a kid back then. In 2000 I was only 9! It was cool back then. Kind of. Okay, not really, but whatever.
Title: Steal My Sunshine
Artist: Len
Genre: Pop, Rock
Album: You Can't Stop the Bum Rush
Single: Steal My Sunshine
Vintage: 22/07/99
Kenn's Comment: Everyone should know this song. It's everywhere. If you don't know it, there's a problem. Much of the budget that the bandw as given to make this music video was spent on alcohol. They apparently broke the hotel elevator trying to carry all their alcohol up to their room. Let's hope they weren't riding those scooters under influence. DUI on a scooter.
Title: Some Kind of Wonderful
Artist: Sky
Genre: Pop
Album: Piece of Paradise
Single: Some Kind of Wonderful
Vintage: 1998
Kenn's Comment: Are you finding it odd that a lot of these songs are by Canadian artists? Anywho, it's a good one. Used a whole lot everywhere too.
