Summer Summaries

Alrighty, with a title that just rolls off the tongue, let's kick this into parking gear, and pull the E brake! Just kidding! Anywho, I'm starting my summer series 3 episode review. There's a few series that I haven't had the chance to check out, but I get the feeling I'm probably not going to watch them anyways.

Aoi Hana

A moderately slow paced series. I actually haven't gotten around to watching the series yet. Started the first episode, but switched to Princess Lover! instead. So, I can't say much about the series. I have the first episode...but I might not watch it..

Bakemonogatari

A SHAFT series. It's story is broken up in to 2 episode arcs involving the various characters that move the story along. Similar to DARKER THAN BLACK in that aspect. Love the ending too. Supercell is awesome.

CANAAN

A definite keeper. Intriguing story, along with a nice character design, and good action. Aaah, lovely Canaan~

Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!

Still deciding on this one. It's got enough fanservice to outclass even some H-series. Amazing! The problem with fanservice oriented series is their blatant lack of plot, and over useage of fanservice, reducing what ever's left of a plot into an incomprehensible pile of rubbish.

Kanamemo

Wahaha. Another keeper. Cute and hilarious characters. Episode 4 was a riot, and Haruharu's always a riot.

NEEDLESS

Mmm. While the characters are tolerable, the story is rather generic, and the fight scenes are ruined with constant attack name scenes. Animation style is similar to Gurren Lagann, but the cons outweigh the pros in this case.

Princess Lover!

Another keeper. Buxom main heroines, a male lead who isn't a wimp and is highly capable of acting on his own. Sylvia = Saber?

Sora no Manimani

I'm keeping this one. The atmosphere the anime can create with it's astronomical themes is wonderful. A sense of peace, and serenity. The male lead isn't too much of a jerk, though he has his reasons for acting like one at times. Hoping that he changes more as the series continues.

Spice and Wolf II

A keeper. Horo and Lawrence return for a second season of Spice and Wolf, and not much has changed between them, though Lawrence has his work cut out for him this time around, according to light novel readers.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

A definite keeper. The realism of the series is unbelievable. It makes series like Higashi no Eden (not the events, but the reactions of people) seem like total fakers. Gotta give the companies credit for that. The opening by Abingdon Boy's School is awesome btw.

Umi Monogatari

Mm. I like the opening and ending of the series. The story is a bit sketchy at the moment, but the character design is nice.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni

A keeper here. The plot and story are quite something. With as many deaths in the first 5 episodes as (1 + 6) x 2 is, it's probably not for the faint of heart, though that's not a problem for me. The opening is awesome too.

Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou

Yumiko's too bright! Her character design is too bright! Of the 3 episodes subbed, 2 of them have no-pan moments. Excellent. Involving the same character too. She's gotta keep them on better. The series seems to be airing achronologically, like Haruhi's first run and season. Though that's only a guess...

Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

Is any explanation needed for why I'm keeping this? After 2 seasons, and a OAD set of episodes, the reason for keeping the series is self explanatory. Chiri is a psychopath.
